5 self-care tips to try during lockdown

It’s never been a better time to ensure that you’re taking extra care of yourself. Self-care has been heavily promoted over the last few years, but with the recent Coronavirus pandemic, it’s more important than ever.

Many of us are spending lots of time at home at the moment. Some of us may be working, whilst others have found themselves furloughed or sadly, without a job to go back to. For our amazing key workers and NHS staff, there has never been a busier time. I’m sure that many of us will find that our stress levels and anxiety levels are higher, so taking care of our bodies and minds as best as we can is vital.

Today, I wanted to share 5 self-care tips to try during lockdown to help you to feel revitalised, refreshed and focused.

1. Perfect your skincare routine for a luxurious at-home pamper

I love indulging in a little time to apply my skincare on a morning and at night. It makes me feel pampered and taken care of. Plus, it keeps my skin looking and feeling its best. 3. Start a gratitude journal

Sometimes it’s hard to pick out the positive points about your day from the top of your head – especially when you’re pre-occupied with the current situation. A gratitude journal really helps you to reflect on your day and pull out those all-important positives that help you to feel great! You can buy gratitude journals to fill in, but all you really need is a small notebook. To get started. Pop the date down on your page and list five things that you’re grateful for. It could be that first cup of tea on a morning, or a cuddle with your pet. Anything that makes your day feel that extra bit special. I think you’ll be surprised at how many things you can list!

4. Invest in yourself

Is there a hobby that you’ve really wanted to take up? Perhaps you’d really like to learn something new? It’s great to use this time to sign up for webinars, order in some craft supplies or simply sit and read about your favourite topics. Learning is so enriching and helps to keep our minds active and our creativity flowing. 5. Hit the reset button

I think one of the most important things you can do during the lockdown is take the time to just be. We spend the majority of our lives working to deadlines, sticking to time limits or rushing from one job to the next. Do whatever feels right for you – from a PJ day watching your favourite movies, to a yoga class, it could be the simplest of things.
